Pumpkin Painting

Thursday night we did our pumpkin painting! We have decided to paint them the last two years. I figure they are too young to actually be able to carve and we would end up doing, which kind of kills all the fun for them. So I bought black paint and brushes and let them go to town. Also please excuse their nakedness. I had horrible visions of their clothes being completely covered in black paint, so they were stripped down. Before the mess: Dominic's pumpkin: Autumn's pumpkin:And with daddy's help, we finally got a face on one:

Pumpkin Patch!

We took the kids to the pumpkin patch today! The kids and I went last year in Ohio. This time though Autumn was big enough to participate in the fun. Playing in the corn:

Autumn wasn't so sure about it and this is as far in as she made it:

They were throwing the hay everywhere, so this is as good as it got:

Columbus Day

I took the kids to Dunbar Cave Columbus Day morning. We have been there a few times already to hike but the kids love it there. We didnt do any hiking that day, but feed the geese and walked the path to the cave. Feeding the geese:

Camping

We went camping for a night this past weekend with our neighbors, Stephanie and Bo and their son Karsen, and Stephanie's little brother, Tanner. The campsite was in Ashland City and was right along the Cumberland river. It went pretty well, there were a few melt downs but everyone had a good time. Our campsite:

Kids in the kitchen!

The kids wanted muffins for snack one night so we made them. Dominic chose corn bread and Autumn blueberry muffins. Their masterpeices!

Oktoberfest Tennessee style

Clarksville holds an Oktoberfest every year so we decided to go check it out. The food was amazing and they actually had german beer too. The band played German folk music the whole time and there was a small carnival also. The kids dancing to the band:

Dominic's olympics

This is Dominic pretending to be in a race and then a diver. He loved watching the olympics but the diving, or the jumping in the water as he called it, was his favorite.

Sesame Street Live

The Sesame Street live show came to Fort Campbell this summer. It was completely free, you just had to get the tickets. So after a 30 minute wait in a line, dealing with many crazed parents and the fear that after all this we may not even be able to go, we finally got our tickets for the following weekend. The kids had a blast. They each recieved a toy and a picture of the show. Waitin impatiently:

Elmo and friends!

Dominic turns 3!!

August 14th was Dominic's birthday. So we had a few friends over for a little party. Dominc had asked for a train cake, so I did my best!

Cabin Trip

I decided to start by putting up a few posts from the summer because I never got any pictures out. I think I stopped around August so we'll start there!
After 6 years I finally made it on a trip up to the cabin in Austin, PA. We stayed for 10 days. Mom, Dad and Dan came up when we did, then Jason and Courtney came up the last few days.
Some of the places we went to were:
the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon:
Animal Land:

The bear trainer actually came out and had the bear do tricks for doughnuts!

And of course the guys got alot of fishing in!
